UCU Partner Congregations

The United Covenant Union welcomes congregations of all faiths to be partners in the work of uplifting cash-based workers, gig workers, and fixed income seniors; so that they can grow as leaders who work to build God's justice in our economy and society.

Partner Congregation Expectations

  • Partner Congregations will host an annual forum in which three (3) UCU members are paid a $50 honoraria to tell their stories of wage theft, food insecurity, and homelessness.

  •  Partner congregations will take up special collection for The United Covenant Union in the month of September around Labor Day each year.

  • Partner congregations will work with an assigned UCU organizer who will speak to the congregation and provide occasional workshops on strategies to support families living in precarity.

How to become a Partner Congregation

The progress of becoming a partner congregation in UCU is simple by design. Once a UCU organizer meets with the clergy and lay leadership of a congregation, that congregation's decision making body will vote on whether or not to enter into a covenantal partnership with UCU.
