The following "Articles of Covenant" are the values which bind The United Covenant Union together in right relationship with its ranks, and the communities we work in:
We are called to be a people of prayer, to open ourselves up to seeing God’s love come alive in the people we meet and work with. We are called to “to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.”
We believe that all persons, especially those who have been marginalized, deserve the opportunity to make decisions about matters which affect their lives. We believe that developing this capacity in people is a holy endeavor
We believe that the destiny of one person is bound to the destiny of their community. All parts of a whole are interwoven together, and dependent on each other. As an organization, no part is less important than another.
We believe that a community is called to intervene to halt or prevent the suffering of its own ranks, as well as for other communities; that decisions are best made at the most local level, and that these things are the way in which goodness is realized.
We are called to repair the world around us, by working to forge right relationship and to name the truth wherever it has been lost.
